Course Description
By the end of this course, participants will be able to define ethics as it pertains to counseling, identify three reasons why professional ethics are important in counseling, and describe at least three principles basic to ethics in counseling. They will also be able to identify at least three common ethical challenges in counseling and describe ways of overcoming each of those challenges, discuss laws governing confidentiality, and finally apply a five-step ethical decision-making process to different scenarios representing common ethical dilemmas in counseling.
CEU Credit
3 Alcohol & Drug - Related credits will be provided for participants who complete the entire training. However, no partial credit will be given for incomplete courses. Certificates of Completion will be awarded to participants at the end of the training. Continuing Education Units are provided for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers. Sponsors may apply for other types of credits.
