Course Description
By the end of this course, participants will be able to identify four ways to integrate into
any community and techniques to reach out to specific populations. They will also be
able to define advocacy and implement skills in order to become an advocate as well as
build coalitions in the community. Participants will also discuss principles and tools of
harm reduction and how to apply harm reduction tools effectively. Finally, participants
will be able to apply a model of self-care in order to combat burn out and increase their
accountability in the workplace.
CEU Credit
7 Alcohol & Drug -Specific and 7 Alcohol & Drug- Related HIV/AIDS credits will be provided for
participants who complete the entire training. However, no partial
credit will be given for incomplete courses. Certificates of Completion
will be awarded to participants at the end of the training. Continuing
Education Units are provided for Licensed Chemical Dependency
Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers.
Sponsors may apply for other types of credits.
