Cultural Competency and Ethics in the Age of HIV Disease
By the end of this course, participants will be able to define culture
and cultural competency and identify cultures and subcultures
disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS and other health disparities
such as addiction. They will also apply an ethical decision making
process to situations involving culturally diverse populations impacted
by HIV/AIDS and substance abuse. Finally, participants will develop
action steps for their individual programs, after examining national
standards, which will help overcome cultural barriers in order to meet
the needs of all individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS and addiction.
CEU Credits
3 Alcohol & Drug Related, Ethics credits will be be provided for participants who complete the entire training. However,
no partial credit will be given for incomplete courses. Certificates of
Completion will be awarded to participants at the end of the training.
Continuing Education Units are provided for Licensed Chemical
Dependency Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors and Social
Workers. Sponsors may apply for other types of credits.
