Course Description
By the end of this course, participants will be able to identify statistical trends and modes of transmission for HIV and related diseases, discuss the connections between substance use, HIV, and related diseases, differentiate between use, abuse and addiction in order to discuss the impact on risk for infectious diseases, and list ways to reduce risk among substance users and prevent the transmission of HIV and related diseases. This course provides advice for HIV positive substance users as well as prevention and intervention professionals, and reviews the principles of risk reduction.
CEU Credit
3 Alcohol & Drug - Specific credits will be provided for participants who complete the entire training. However, no partial credit will be given for incomplete courses. Certificates of Completion will be awarded to participants at the end of the training. Continuing Education Units are provided for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers. Sponsors may apply for other types of credits.
