Event Description

Prevention Specialist Tract:

Prevention specialists are not only expected to be experts about substance abuse prevention, they are also expected to be able to speak about our field before diverse groups as well as be an effective teacher of various curricula!  Public speaking is one of the ten worst fears of adults in the United States.  Although some people are born with natural abilities related to teaching and public speaking, good speaking and/or teaching skills can be learned!  This highly participatory workshop is designed to teach presentation skills that are particularly applicable to the needs of the prevention specialist.

Comments

All EXISTING direct care staff are required to attend 15 hours of continued education trainings by the end of FY10. This training is designed to complete 12 hours of that requirement.

Coordinated Training Services (CTS) reserves the right to cancel any training for which a minimum of five (5) participants have not pre-registered within 10 days prior to the training.
