Event Description

It was recently announced that SAMSHA has developed 10 Strategic Intiatives to focus its work.  The #1 intiative is Prevention of Substance Abuse and Mental Illness.  The goal for the first intiative is to create prevention prepared communities where individuals, families, schools, workplaces, and communities take action to promote emotional health and prevent and reduce mental illness, substance abuse including tobacco, and suicide across the lifespan.

This workshop is designed to assist prevention specialists and program directors whose work is focused primarily on youth to have a better understanding of community coalitions and the part they play in creating and maintaining safe, healthy and drug-free communities.
