Details for "Substance Abuse Counseling: Treatment Planning with the Client"
Course Description
This one-day course is designed to provide participants with the
information, effective exploration, and practice needed to enhance
their ability to plan effective treatment for their substance-abusing
clients. This course will enhance the counselor’s knowledge of the
multidimensional nature of substance abuse and how to apply this
knowledge to assessing the needs of clients. Participants will learn a
four-phase model used to assess health concerns and psychosocial
reactions to substance abuse and will learn how to incorporate these
into treatment planning. Additionally, family and community support
systems and resources will be explored. Through group case study work,
participants will apply what they have learned in developing and
implementing a comprehensive treatment plan.
CEU Credit
7 Alcohol & Drug -Specific credits will be provided for
participants who complete the entire training. However, no partial
credit will be given for incomplete courses. Certificates of Completion
will be awarded to participants at the end of the training. Continuing
Education Units are provided for Licensed Chemical Dependency
Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers.
Sponsors may apply for other types of credits.
