Details for "Prevention Staff Training: Enhancing Cultural Competency"
An interactive workshop utilizing activities from the Strengthening
Families Program for Parents & Youth 10-14. This workshop will give an
overview to the format of the curriculum and activities designed to help
parents build on their strengths in showing love and setting limits,
helping youth develop skills in handling peer pressure and building a
positive future, and help families grow together.
Kathy Daley, B.F.A is a Training Coordinator for Rainbow Days, Inc. in
Dallas, Texas. Ms. Daley began her work with RDI in 1998 as the
Performing Arts Specialist, with the Family Connection Program,
following her 17-plus years working with children and adults in the
field of Theatre as a teacher, actor, director and coordinator. As
Performing Arts Specialist, she worked with children living in
homeless, domestic violence and other high-risk transitional living
environments through curriculum-based support groups and arts-based
supportive services. In 2001, she joined the Training Team and has
trained in Rainbow Days� Curriculum-Based Support Group: Kid�s
Connection, Kid�s Connection, Too and Faith Connection. She is also a
Certified Trainer in Tanglewood�s All Stars Curriculum and a National
Trainer for The Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth
10-14. Currently, Ms Daley is the Family Connection Replication
Manager taking this award-winning program to other cities through a
grant provided by the Hasbro Children�s Foundation.

This is a
(3) hour training, meeting 3 hours of the 15 hours required for new
DSHS Prevention & Intervention Staff during their first 3 months of
employment.
Coordinated
Training Services (CTS) reserves the right to cancel any training for
which a minimum of five (5) participants have not pre-registered within
10 days prior to the training. |
