Overview of child & adolescent development issues with applications for
prevention programs.
Karen Williams, MSSW, has over 25 years in the field of prevention
education. Her area of expertise is child and adolescent brain
development and the developmental and behavioral health risks
associated with child traumatic stress, substance abuse, and traumatic
brain injury. She is the curriculum developer of Protecting
You/Protecting Me, the SAMHSA Model Program based on the latest brain
research, and the co-founder of Brain Trust Alliance�, which brings
together researchers, educators and preventionists dedicated to making
the latest research accessible to the public. She develops educational
materials and coordinates special projects for Rainbow Days, Inc.

This is a (3) hour training, meeting 3 hours of the 15 hours required
for new DSHS Prevention & Intervention Staff during their first 3
months of employment.
Coordinated
Training Services (CTS) reserves the right to cancel any training for
which a minimum of five (5) participants have not pre-registered within
10 days prior to the training. |
