Details for "CCP: Advanced Media"
Advanced Media Advocacy: An interactive workshop where participants learn theory of media advocacy as well as work one-on-one with the organization and their current media materials to practice, design, and develop press materials including: developing media pitches, writing letters to the editor, writing op-eds, writing press releases and advisories, holding press conferences, communicating with the press, developing sound-bites, developing press packets, and creating effective PSAs. Participants will learn the importance of cultivating relationships with the media as well as how to develop and utilize them. Additionally, participants will learn the importance of branding their organization with the image and story they want to convey about their organization and how to develop their materials and organizational statements to create that image. All instruction is individualized to build on the organization’s current information which is used as a springboard for instruction. If the organization currently does not have materials, materials will be provided for instruction. 5-8 hrs.
