Course Description
By the end of this course, participants will be able to describe the basic functions of a healthy liver and the important role it plays in our lives, and be able to define Hepatitis and Hepatitis C. They will also be able to exhibit increased knowledge and comprehension of the Hepatitis C disease process, transmission routes, testing, treatment, and prevention. Finally, participants will be able to explain how substance use affects a person with Hepatitis C, and identify the connection between HIV and Hepatitis C. This training also offers a basic overview of the other Hepatitis viruses, and includes ways to advocate for clients who have Hepatitis C.
CEU Credit
3 Alcohol & Drug -Related credits will be provided for participants who complete the entire training. However, no partial credit will be given for incomplete courses. Certificates of Completion will be awarded to participants at the end of the training. Continuing Education Units are provided for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers. Sponsors may apply for other types of credits.
