Course Description
By the end of this course, participants will be able to list three connections between substance use and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), identify different categories of STDs, list 3 common symptoms of STDs, and describe four behaviors that eliminate or reduce the risk of contracting an STD. This course describes the transmission and treatment of many viral, bacterial, and parasitic STDs. This training also reviews facts counselors need to know related to STDs and current statistical trends related to sexually transmitted diseases.
CEU Credit
3 Alcohol & Drug Related, STDs credits will be provided for participants who complete the entire training. However, no partial credit will be given for incomplete courses. Certificates of Completion will be awarded to participants at the end of the training. Continuing Education Units are provided for Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers. Sponsors may apply for other types of credits.
