PAL® Teacher’s Manual

Description: The official guide to the PAL® peer helping program, this manual is available for both middle school and high school teachers. Both provide program sponsors with step-by-step guidance with regard to every aspect of the implementation of the PAL® peer helping model, including Program orientation, Recruitment and Selection, Student Training, Supervision, Evaluation, and Maintenance. The Student Training section contains a Texas Education Agency- approved curriculum composed of eight components that collectively represent the training that PAL® sponsors provide their PALs.

Cost: The manual is available only to those who have completed a PAL® Initial Teacher Training. Training participants must purchase a Material Packet, which contains two items: a PAL® Teacher’s Manual and a PAL® Student Handbook at a cost of $160.


PAL
® Elementary Advisor Manual

Description: This experiential teaching manual is designed for educators serving elementary schools. Developed by the Orange County Department of Education, it contains two complementary curricula: one for grades 3/4 and one for grades 5/6. Contained within this elaborate peer helping guide are specific activities that teach such skills as stress reduction, nutrition awareness, active listening, specific feedback, building self-confidence, cultural diversity, and much, much more.

Cost: The manual is available only to those who have successfully completed a PAL® Elementary Advisor Training. Training participants must purchase a PAL® Elementary Advisor Manual at a cost of $160.


PAL
® Student Handbook
Description: Available in both high school and middle school versions, this handbook is the perfect companion to the PAL® Teacher’s Manual. While the Teacher’s Manual is designed to meet the needs of the educators coordinating PAL® programs, the Student Handbook is specifically designed for youth involved with the program- that is, the PALs. The handbook includes instructions, worksheets, sample forms, and many activities to use with PALees.

Description: Available upon request, this information packet gives interested parties a quick guide to the program, the accompanying research evaluations, available training opportunities, a copy of our last conference program, and much more.
